Common questions

What is the maximum resistance in Path of Exile 2?

The default maximum for elemental or chaos resistances is 75%, and maximum resistances cannot be raised above 90%.

Why do my resistances drop as I progress?

Areas apply a penalty to your elemental resistances based on their level: none below area level 16, -10% from 16, -20% from 33, -30% from 45, -40% from 54, -50% from 60 and -60% from area level 65 onwards. Chaos resistance is not penalised.

What ailments are there in Path of Exile 2?

Seven: Bleeding, Ignite, Chill, Freeze, Shock, Electrocute and Poison. Bleeding, Ignite and Poison deal damage over time; Chill, Freeze, Shock and Electrocute change what the target can do or how much damage it takes.

What is Elemental Ailment Threshold?

A higher Elemental Ailment Threshold makes elemental hits less likely to apply their ailment and lowers freeze and electrocute buildup. By default a player's ailment threshold is equal to half their Life.
