Gold
Gold is Path of Exile 2's town currency — you spend it to respec your passive tree and it decides what vendors pay for your gear. Here are the game's exact figures for both: a respec calculator for any level, and the base and per-modifier gold values behind every vendor price.
Respec cost calculator
Enter your character level and how many passive points you want to refund. The Hooded One charges this in gold.
29,040

Vendor prices
The base gold value of 2,296 item bases and 462 uniques — what a vendor pays, and what stocked consumables cost. Search and filter by category.
Modifier sell values
How much gold value each of 2,301 modifiers adds to an item's vendor price — the reason an identified rare sells for far more than its bare base.
Most valuable uniques to a vendor
The uniques a vendor pays the most gold for. Most uniques are worth a few thousand; these top the table.
Respec cost by character level
The gold cost to refund a single passive point at each character level. Multiply by the number of points you want to move.

Gold FAQ
- What is gold used for in Path of Exile 2?
- Gold is the town currency. Its two big uses are respeccing your passive tree — you pay The Hooded One a per-point cost that scales with your character level — and trading with vendors, who buy your gear for gold and sell you flasks, uncut gems and gambled items. It never drops as a stackable item; it sits on your character and is not lost on death.
- How much does it cost to respec in Path of Exile 2?
- The cost is per passive point removed and it scales with your character level, not with how many points you have spent. At level 1 a single point costs 15 gold; by level 50 it is 1,089, by level 70 it is 2,145, and at level 100 a single point costs 10,129 gold. Refunding several points multiplies that per-point cost — use the calculator above for your exact level and point count.
- Why does respeccing cost so much at high level?
- The per-point cost climbs steeply with character level — it roughly doubles between level 70 and level 100 — so full late-game respecs run into the hundreds of thousands of gold. The curve is deliberate: cheap early experimentation, expensive wholesale rebuilds. Refunding a handful of points to re-path is always affordable; swapping your whole tree at level 90+ is not meant to be.
- How is a rare item's vendor value calculated?
- A vendor pays a base gold value for the item's base type, plus a gold value for each modifier on it — so a rare with several strong modifiers is worth far more than a white base. Identifying the item first exposes its modifiers and their value; selling it unidentified pays only the base. The per-base and per-modifier values are both listed here.
- Can you buy items from vendors with gold?
- Yes. Town vendors sell flasks, uncut skill and support gems and basic currency for gold, and each town's gambler sells unidentified items of a chosen type for gold. The base gold prices for stocked items are in the vendor-prices list.
