Crafting Simulator
Pick a base to start crafting
Search any weapon, armour piece or piece of jewellery above. You get the real modifier pool for that base at your chosen item level — then Transmute, Alchemy, Regal, Exalt, Chaos, Annul, Divine and Fracture behave exactly as they do in the game, including the Greater/Perfect minimum-level floors and the crafting omens. The side panel shows the exact odds of every stat before you commit an orb.
Crafting Simulator FAQ
Is there a crafting simulator for Path of Exile 2?
Yes — this page. Pick any base item and an item level, then use Transmutation, Augmentation, Alchemy, Regal, Exalted, Chaos, Annulment, Divine and Fracturing Orbs on it, including the Greater and Perfect versions, all 95 essences, and every crafting omen the game has. Every roll uses the exact modifier pool, spawn weights, item-level gates and modifier-group rules for that base, so the odds you experience here are the odds you get in the game.
How many modifiers can an item have in Path of Exile 2?
A Magic item holds at most 2 modifiers — exactly one prefix and one suffix. A Rare item holds up to 6: three prefixes and three suffixes. An item can never carry two modifiers from the same modifier group, which is why you cannot stack two tiers of the same stat.
What do Greater and Perfect orbs do?
They apply the base orb's effect but only roll modifiers at or above a minimum modifier level: 35 (Greater) and 50 (Perfect) for Exalted, Regal and Chaos Orbs, and 44 (Greater) and 70 (Perfect) for Orbs of Transmutation and Augmentation. If every tier of a modifier sits below the floor, its highest tier stays rollable — the floor narrows tiers, it never deletes a stat from the pool.
How does the Chaos Orb work in Path of Exile 2?
Unlike the first game, a Chaos Orb removes one random modifier from a Rare item and then adds one new random modifier. An Omen of Whittling makes it remove the lowest-level modifier instead, and Omens of Sinistral / Dextral Erasure force the removal to be a prefix / a suffix.
How do essences work in Path of Exile 2?
An essence guarantees one modifier, and which modifier you get depends on the item class you use it on — Essence of the Body gives a body armour +(85-99) to maximum Life but a ring +(70-84). Lesser, ordinary and Greater essences upgrade a Magic item to Rare, keeping its modifiers and adding the guaranteed one. Perfect essences — and the corrupted essences, Essence of the Abyss, Essence of the Breach and the Verisium Alloys — instead remove a random modifier from a Rare item and add theirs. This page carries all 95, and shows each one that applies to the base you picked; an essence that targets other item classes is left off rather than shown as unusable.
Do the Crystallisation omens work with every essence?
No. Omens of Sinistral and Dextral Crystallisation say, in their own wording, that they affect your next Perfect or Corrupted Essence — so they steer the removal on those 25 essences only. The 13 Verisium Alloys replace a modifier the same way but no omen names them, so this page does not let one steer an Alloy.
Why can an essence be greyed out?
Because the item is the wrong rarity for that essence, because the item already carries a modifier from the same modifier group — which makes an essence fail to apply — or because the item level has not reached the granted modifier's level, which is printed on every essence here.
What are all the Vaal Orb outcomes in Path of Exile 2?
A Vaal Orb takes exactly one of these and never a combination: nothing happens, a corrupted implicit is added, the item's modifiers are rerolled, a socket is added (armour and martial weapons, past the normal limit), or quality changes (wands and staves, above the normal cap). The item is Corrupted either way and no currency can be used on it again.
What are the odds of each Vaal Orb outcome?
Grinding Gear Games has never published them, and no value in the game's data states the split — so this page does not print a number it cannot stand behind. You pick which outcome to practise instead. What is exact is the corrupted implicit itself: the pool shown for your base is the corruption pool for that item type, drawn at its real weights, and every corruption modifier is modifier level 1 so no item level gates it.
How does desecration work in Path of Exile 2?
You use an Abyss bone on a Rare item of the matching kind — a Jawbone for weapons and quivers, a Rib for armour, a Collarbone for jewellery — which adds an Unrevealed Desecrated modifier. If all six modifiers are already taken, one of them is removed to make room. You then reveal it at the Well of Souls and choose one of three offered modifiers. An item that already carries a Desecrated modifier cannot be desecrated again, though removing that modifier frees it to be desecrated once more.
What is the difference between Gnawed, Preserved and Ancient bones?
Only the rules they impose. A Gnawed bone works on items of item level 64 and below, which makes it the campaign-tier bone. A Preserved bone works at any item level. An Ancient bone works at any item level and guarantees a minimum modifier level of 40. What none of them change is the pool: item level never gates a desecration — every Desecrated modifier is spawn level 1 in the game's data, which is exactly why a Gnawed bone can roll a modifier level 65 line onto a level 60 item.
Are the three options at the Well of Souls one from each Lich?
Not as far as anything states. Ulaman, Amanamu and Kurgal each have an Omen — the Sovereign, the Liege and the Blackblooded — whose own wording is that it will guarantee a random modifier from that Lich, and a guarantee only means something if the options are otherwise drawn from the whole pool. So this simulator draws three from the base's own pool and lets a Lich omen force one of them; the exact split is published nowhere and is not invented here.
What does the Altered Collarbone do differently?
It desecrates jewellery like an ordinary Collarbone but also puts the Breach modifiers into the pool — the game calls them otherworldly modifiers, and its own data tags it for exactly that pool. Pick it on a ring, amulet or belt here and the extra modifiers appear in the list alongside the Lich ones.
What does the Omen of Sanctification do?
It turns your next Divine Orb on a Rare item into a Sanctify. The rule is: “Sanctifying an item will multiply the values of an items modifiers by a random value ranging from 78% to 122% for each modifier.” Because it multiplies the roll you already have rather than rerolling inside the range, a modifier can finish above its printed maximum — and equally can lose up to 22%. Each modifier gets its own roll, and the item is then Sanctified: like a Corrupted item, no further crafting works on it.
What does the Omen of the Blessed do?
It restricts your next Divine Orb to the item's implicit modifiers. An ordinary Divine Orb randomises the values of every modifier on the item, implicits included — the omen keeps the explicit modifiers you rolled and moves only the implicit. This page rolls each base's implicits the moment you pick it, so both behave here exactly as they do in game.
How do the Homogenising omens decide which modifier you get?
By tags. Every modifier in the game carries a type — Fire, Life, Attack, Caster, Defences and so on — and a Homogenising Exaltation or Coronation may only add a modifier that shares a tag with one already on the item. The tags in play are listed under the omen here, and the odds panel narrows to the matching modifiers while it is held. If the item's modifiers carry no tags at all, the omen is spent and an ordinary random modifier is added.
What do the Sinistral and Dextral Alchemy omens do?
They decide how an Orb of Alchemy's four modifiers are split. An item holds at most three prefixes and three suffixes, so “the maximum number of prefix modifiers” is three prefixes and one suffix — and Dextral Alchemy is the mirror. The Coronation omens are the Regal Orb's equivalent: they force the added modifier onto one side.
Does the Omen of Corruption change the Vaal Orb odds?
It removes one outcome and nothing more: a Vaal Orb held with it will always change the item — but how the remaining outcomes divide up has still never been published, so this page does not start quoting odds once the omen is held.
Which crafting omens does this page not apply?
Seven, each named on the page with the reason. The four Chaotic omens steer a Chaos Orb on a Waystone, which is a different modifier pool from the item modifiers here. Omen of Chance and Omen of the Ancients steer an Orb of Chance, which turns a base into a random Unique rather than crafting modifiers. Omen of Catalysing Exaltation consumes Catalyst quality, and how far that shifts the spawn weights is published nowhere — this page rolls every base at 0% quality.
What does the simulator not cover yet?
The Vaal Orb's reroll, socket and quality outcomes (the simulator models modifiers, not sockets or quality, and the reroll's size is not published), the Omen of Putrefaction, the seven omens listed above with their reasons, and the two bones that target items this page does not craft — the Preserved Cranium for jewels and the Preserved Vertebrae for waystones. Fractured modifiers are supported: a Fracturing Orb needs a Rare with at least 4 modifiers, locks one at random, and Chaos, Annulment and Divine Orbs then leave it untouched.
